Crystal Ferguson “The Cat Whisperer”

My name is Crystal and I am one of your Veterinary Technicians.  I have been part of the team at Henry County Animal Hospital since the beginning of 2007.  I began my career with animals at the age of twelve, volunteering at my hometown’s animal clinic.  Even at that age, I knew veterinary medicine was my passion, and that caring for animals was what I wanted to devote my life’s work.  My life has been driven by my compassion for animals.  I love what I do at the hospital because there is no greater reward at the end of the day than to return what was once a sick, beloved pet to their owner healthy and active.  My focus is on providing you and your pets with the highest standard of care possible in a veterinary setting.  I am currently pursuing a degree in Veterinary Technology.  In 2008, I  rescued a severely injured kitten named “Winks”.

Jennifer Gauldin

Hi, my name is Jennifer and I am a receptionist with Henry County Animal Hospital.  I have been a part of the team here for 10 years!  I love working with the public and seeing the adorable pets that come into the hospital.  My favorite part of the day is really just the client interaction.   I love getting to know our clients and educating them on the best care for their pets.  There have been so many changes in veterinary medicine since I first walked through these doors, and I love the new technologies available to us today.  I feel privileged to be part of a team like this and come to work everyday with people that I consider my “second family”.  I have a Boston Terrier, and rescued, Shepherd mix, and six cats, all of whom I love, even when they are getting into trouble!  I enjoy spending time with my family and traveling to the beach to visit my sister.  In another world, I would be a beach bum if given the chance!!

Melissa Mullen

Hi, I’m Melissa Mullen, I have been interested in the health and welfare of animals since I was very young.  I began volunteering at the age of nine at a Wildlife Rehabilitation center in the Florida town I grew up in.  I continued to help sick, injured and abandoned wild animals at the center for ten years.  Recently, my husband and I, and our two cats (Butterfinger and Shadow) relocated to Henry County, we are all pleased with our decision to settle here.  The adoption last February of Grendel, a puppy from the Martinsville/Henry County SPCA, added another member to our happy family.  My love of animals and care for their wellbeing has brought me to the Henry County Animal Hospital.  I see my employment here as an important part of my life’s work, helping animals.  My experiences here will assist me in gaining practical knowledge in my continuing education to become a Veterinary Technician.

Nikki Boyd

Hi, I am Nikki Boyd.  I am one of your Veterinary Technicians here at Henry County Animal Hospital.  I love working here because everyone is dedicated to helping and saving the lives of animals.  It is so rewarding when you can help an animal in need.  Then when they look up at you, you can see how grateful they are.  It makes your heart swell.  It is always worth my time and effort to help animals.  I have 7 dogs, 6 cats, and 3 horses, most of which are rescues.  They are my children.  My Alaskan Malamute, Sabaka, has been a Godsend since the passing of my Shepard/Husky mix and Rottweiler in Jan 2009.  He is an absolute joy.  I look forward to meeting you and your animals.  I will do my best to keep them happy and healthy, as if they were members of my family.

Sara Quinn

Hello! My name is Sarah Quinn.  I am pleased to be one of the new staff members here at the hospital.  In my position as a receptionist, you might find me checking patients in and out, on the phone setting up appointments, or zipping around the hospital helping out my team.  With my recent move from Ohio, I have found myself purrfectly placed in the best job anyone could ask for.  The diversity each day is a very welcomed new opportunity, that provides me a refreshing positive outlook in my career.  I have always worked in customer service and have found it to be extremely rewarding.  I never knew it could be so much better….just add animals!  I love having the front row seat at the “Animal Parade”…and believe me, some of those little (and big) guys and dolls think they’re on the red carpet!  I love having the backstage season ticket to the live version of “Animal Hospital”, as well as V.I.P. privilege of meeting the “stars” of the show!  What could be more fantastic than that you might ask?  How about proudly working for Dr. Zimmers….she has successfully pioneered her holistic approach to animal care, as well as incorporating state of the art medical equipment that allows for rapid treatment for the beloved pets of this community on site.  After the week is through, I enjoy spending time outdoors with my loving husband, son and our great family dog “Reese”.  I hope to see you at HCAH very soon, I am sure you’ll enjoy the hospital, staff, and the “stars” as much as I do.

Chris Pugh

Hi, I’m Chris Pugh the Kennel Keeper here at Henry County Animal Hospital.  I have lived and worked in the Henry County area all my life.  I am married, have 2 children, and a dog.  Rumor, an American Pitbull is my best friend. She is the sweetest dog you will ever meet.  In addition to grooming activities and taking care of your pets in the kennel, I am very interested in behavior and obedience training.  I am currently enrolled in classes to learn how to improve the bond and relationship between pet and owner.  I look forward to having the opportunity to apply my newly acquired skills with you and your pet(s).
